International Standards Our Labels Meet

VINLAB labels are manufactured to match the original factory specifications of major international standards:

FMVSS / NHTSA (United States)

For US-market vehicles, our labels match the format and specifications required under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), specifically 49 CFR Parts 567 and 571. Our replacement labels meet the same durability, format, and content requirements as original factory labels.

DVLA (United Kingdom)

For UK-market vehicles, our labels match the format specified by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) for vehicle identification. Our replacements are produced to match original manufacturer specifications used at time of vehicle production.

EU Type-Approval (European Union)

For EU-market vehicles, our labels match the format specified under EU vehicle type-approval regulations (Directive 2007/46/EC and subsequent regulations) including manufacturer plate and statutory plate specifications.

What VINLAB Will Not Do

Our commitment to compliance means we will refuse to provide certain services. We will not:

• Produce VIN labels for vehicles where the customer cannot provide proof of ownership
• Produce labels with VIN numbers that do not match the customer’s documented vehicle
• Produce labels designed to disguise or misrepresent a vehicle’s true identity
• Recreate original stamped manufacturer VINs (we produce printed labels and plates only)
• Produce stamped or engraved metal VIN plates (we produce printed plates only)
• Provide multiple labels with different VINs for the same vehicle owner
• Process orders where documentation appears altered, forged, or suspicious
• Provide services to customers with known histories of vehicle fraud
• Produce labels that would aid in vehicle cloning, ringing, or identity theft

We reserve the right to refuse, delay, or report any order we consider suspicious. Any refusal does not require explanation, and we will retain documentation of any suspicious activity for legal compliance purposes.

Cooperation With Law Enforcement Worldwide

VINLAB cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies and vehicle registration authorities worldwide in matters relating to vehicle identification fraud, cloning, theft, or tampering offences.

Should authorities investigate any matter relating to one of our orders or customers, we will:

• Provide complete order records and customer documentation when legally required
• Assist investigations with any information at our disposal
• Cooperate with international vehicle registration databases and verification services
• Report suspicious activities proactively where appropriate
• Comply with all data protection requirements while assisting legitimate investigations

Customer Responsibilities

When you order from VINLAB, you confirm that:

• You are the registered keeper or legally authorised agent of the vehicle
• The documentation you provide is genuine and unaltered
• The replacement label is for legitimate restoration, repair, or replacement purposes
• The label will not be used to alter, falsify, or conceal the vehicle’s original identity
• You will comply with all local laws and regulations in your country regarding vehicle identification
• You accept responsibility for the use of the products after delivery
• You indemnify VINLAB against any claims or liabilities arising from misuse of our products

Misuse of replacement VIN labels for illegal purposes — including vehicle cloning, ringing, identity theft, or fraud — is a serious criminal offence in most countries. VINLAB accepts no liability for any unlawful use of our products by customers who have provided false documentation or engaged in deception during the ordering process.

Data Protection and Privacy

VINLAB takes data protection seriously. The personal information and vehicle documentation you provide is:

• Stored securely and used only for processing your order and verification purposes
• Protected under UK GDPR and other applicable data protection laws
• Never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes
• Retained only as long as necessary for legal, tax, and compliance purposes
• Accessible to you on request — you have the right to view, correct, or request deletion of your data subject to legal retention requirements
• Shared with law enforcement only when legally required or in cooperation with active investigations

Misuse of these products for illegal purposes — including disguising or misrepresenting a vehicle’s identity — may constitute a criminal offence under the laws of the customer’s country. VINLAB accepts no liability for any unlawful use of its products.

By purchasing from VINLAB, the customer agrees to abide by these conditions and indemnifies VINLAB against any claims, losses, or legal action arising from the misuse of supplied products.
